Lynne Rossetto Kasper is filled with passion for slow food. At Slow Food Minnesota’s Evening With Lynne Rossetto Kasper, she spoke to 80 guests about the food movement, remembering that many years before she had forecasted to a doubtful audience that three words were going to be in our everyday language: organic, local and sustainable. She told stories of honorable farmers in Europe who use their crafts steeped in tradition and take great pride in their product, and compared them to what much of our food has become: commercially produced on a large scale and removed from any personal care.

She had three concerns:
1. How can farmers make a good living growing organic local and sustainable produce . . .
2. and at the same time make these foods affordable to all people?
3. She is appalled with the small amount of money the government spends on school lunches. From the poor quality of the food to the amount of time students have to eat, she believes things must change.
