Lynne Rossetto Kasper Talk and Dinner:
One Food Loverís Journey to the Land
or The American Paradox

Sunday, March 8, 1:30 – 5 p.m.
Coffman Memorial Union, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis

The afternoon began in the auditorium. Lynne spoke about European food traditions and suggested that an authentic American cuisine might arise from the regional bounty of the land. She talked about the value of eating well and its connection to good health, friendship and happiness.

At 3 p.m. a buffet dinner, based on some of Lynneís favorite recipes from The Splendid Tableís How to Eat Supper, was held at the Campus Club. The food, prepared by Beth Jones and her staff, was delicious. Lynne spent a great deal of time chatting with participants and signing books. She didnít have much time to enjoy the dinner, but somehow, diners on both sides of her did manage to spill wine on (tip their glasses to?) her.
